Syksyn 2007 viimeinen ARNOLD CHIWALALAN vetämä workshop-päivä
järjestetään lauantaina
3.11. Tampereella! Tansaniasta kotoisisin oleva CHIWALALA on
säveltäjä-koreografi-tanssija-muusikko sekä arvostettu ja lahjakas pedagogi.

Kaksi aikaisempaa työpajapäivää ovat olleet suosittuja, tunnelma on
ollut rento ja ennen
kaikkea oppimisen lisäksi osallistujilla on ollu hauskaa! Joten jos
aikaisemmin olet
epäröinyt, tule nyt viimeistään mukaan!

KLO 12.00-13.30
LEARN TO PLAY&FEEL THE DRUM - NGOMA Introduction to drumming.

Learn how to play ngoma (Tanzanian traditional drums); improve your
sense of rhythm; improve the coordination of left and right hand;
improve your skills of drumming. You will learn basic important
technigues; how to produce a good sound when drumming; how to play by
hands and with sticks.

You can bring your own drum with you to the class. It does not have to
be a ngoma-drum; djembes etc. are very welcome! If you don}t have a
drum of your own, you can use the drums we}ve arranged to be used at
the workshop.

KLO 13.45-15.15
GET YOURSELF READY FOR DANCING Beginners.
You will learn and practice basic techniques of how to move different
parts of your body with rhythm; simple coordination; simple
combination of movements. The dancing is more fun when you know how to
move! Teaching process is step by step. Live drumming music is used
for training.

KLO 16.15-17.45
IMPROVE YOUR SKILLS OF EXPRESSION IN DANCING Advanced.
You will learn and practice important elements of expression in dance
movements.
Particular short choreographies or patterns of movements will be used
as a model for training. Expression is the joy and meaning of dancing!

KLO 18.00-19.30
THE JOY OF SINGING TRADITIONAL SONGS
Understand harmony, main beat and rhythms in the song. As an example,
participants will learn particular traditional songs from some tribes
from Africa- Tanzania. Workshop is open for anybody who has the
interest in singing.

-leader of the workshops: ARNOLD CHIWALALA. A composer, song-writer,
dance choreographer, musician, singer, teacher/pedagogist. A master of
arts in music. As a teacher Chiwalala has been teaching and leading
workshops in schools, dance studios and in high educational
institutions of arts inside and outside Finland for many years. Arnold
Chiwalala has developed very effective way of teaching music, dance
and singing. His experience includes working with prisoners and people
with special needs. He teaches both professinals and amatures, young
and adults. He is currently teaching at the Sibelius Academy.
